The Salvation Army - London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Since being a boy, it has been a dream and a goal of mine to run the London Marathon; and 2025 will see it happen!
I am privileged to be completing the run proudly representing my church, The Salvation Army, and with a deeper aim and incentive to be supporting The Salvation Army’s work in tackling Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, and providing holistic care to survivors.
Modern slavery affects millions worldwide, robbing individuals of their freedom and dignity. Centuries after slavery was officially abolished, thousands of people are still being exploited and sold into slave-like conditions across the UK. They can be forced to work in the sex trade or domestic settings, used as domestic slaves, exploited for labour or criminal activity, or have their organs removed to be sold.
Those trafficked into the UK often are often unable to speak English, have their travel and identity documents removed, and are told that if they try to attempt an escape, they or their families will be harmed.
The Salvation Army is active in continuing to provide specialist support to survivors of human trafficking and/or modern slavery. I am proud to be part of a movement that is committed to bringing light into darkness.
I am excited for the journey ahead and invite you to join me on that journey through encouragement and support.
And I am inspired that taking on this challenge will bring more than simply fulfilling a dream or a goal, but that any money I am able to raise will contribute directly into benefitting real, vulnerable people who are facing a much greater challenge in life than running 26miles!
I, and they, are truly grateful for your support and contribution to the cause. I, and they, need your help! What a difference we can make together!
