Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. We work in over 70 countries and go to the places where others cannot or choose not to go.
I am participating in a trek to climb Kilimanjaro on the 19th of October 2024 and I am doing this in order to hopefully raise £3,500 for Medecins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders (MSF). I have chosen MSF because they work towards a cause that is close to my heart: helping those in need. After meeting so many people less fortunate than myself throughout my travels and in life — people living under dictatorships, suffering economically and silenced politically, lacking access to medicine and basic necessities while elites prosper — it has opened my eyes to the injustices of this world and I would like to do at least one thing to help make a difference. And MSF is the incredible organisation that will allow me (and YOU) to make a big difference, as they tirelessly work to provide medical aid, treatment and support to those who are unfortunate enough to find themselves in wars, conflict zones and disasters all around the world, in the places where few venture to go.
If there was ever a time to give back, it's now. That's because conflict and wars have only become more common in recent years, and shockingly, 2023 marked the first rise in conflicts than the year prior for 6 years. That's a horrible statistic. And it doesn't look to end soon. It's not just Ukraine, Palestine and the Middle East but also large parts of Africa, Asia and Latin America, all home to conflicts that go unnoticed and unspoken of.
So people need your help now more than ever.
And by supporting my fundraising efforts, you will be directly contributing to MSF's mission of delivering life-saving care to vulnerable communities.
