I am running the London Marathon in memory of five colleagues at ITV News and raising money to sponsor a journalism student at Cardiff University.

Bernard, Chris, Emily, Geoff and Lim were talented, kind and courageous. They adored working in broadcasting and believed that good journalism informs and empowers.

A Masters from Cardiff can be the first step in a wonderful career, I know because I trained there, but it is also a huge financial commitment.

Please help me to raise £17,500 - enough to cover the tuition fees and accommodation costs for someone with curiosity, persistence and fire in the belly but who is not in a position to be able to fund such an opportunity themselves.
