Story
At the end of July my sister died suddenly and tragically of meningococcus septicaemia at only 20 years old. She was taken to hospital and unfortunately misdiagnosed. She became extremely ill over night and in the morning it was too late to save her. If she had been more accurately diagnosed she may have lived. It is a great tragedy for our family and I want to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I am running the London Marathon in April 2024 for Sophie and to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation. MRF are a charity which is helping with the improvement of meningitis vaccines and the development of the Meningococcal Genome Library which provides the genetic information for this bacterial disease.
Thank you for your support,
Joe
