Story
Charity Ride for Yorkshire Cancer Research
Between the 2nd and 4th June 2025, I'll be cycling 320 kilometres along the South Coast of England to raise vital funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research. As a keen cyclist, I will be completing the ride on my recumbent trike alongside a small group of friends and family.
This isn't just a personal challenge - it's a ride in recognition of the cancer journey of Katie Panagarry, wife of Loughborough Lightning Netball captain Nat Panagarry. As a proud Loughborough Lightning fan, learning more about Katie's illness made me want to do something that could make a real difference.
Katie was diagnosed in 2022 with stage 4 clear cell carcinoma at 34 years old. She had major surgery removing part of her bowel followed by six rounds of chemotherapy. In April this year she received the news that she was two years cancer free. Katie continues to raise as much awareness as possible with young women and girls with female health issues.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is on a mission to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer more effectively. They fund world-class research and put people at the heart of everything they do.
Whether you can give a little or a lot, every donation counts. Every pound goes towards life saving research, better treatment and more hope for people across Yorkshire.
Thank you so much for your support.
Joe
