I'm running the Reading half marathon for Sport in Mind ® which is an award winning mental health charity that was formed in Reading, Berkshire in 2010 with a simple mission:
"To improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity"
Exercise is a natural and effective anti-anxiety treatment. It relieves tension and stress, boosts physical and mental energy, and enhances well-being through the release of endorphins. I've seen and experienced firsthand the positive impact physical activity can have on mental health. Studies show that exercise can treat mild to moderate depression as effectively as antidepressant medication.
