Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hello I'm Joe I'm 42 and an amputee. At 16 I had an accident In my first few months at work resulting in my right leg being amputated below the knee. One month in the Royal Preston hospital later I left in a wheelchair. I was at rock bottom and somebody told me that "crap happens". I was determined to get up and walk and get back to work. With help from the limb centre, physiotherapy and support from my family by May 1998 I was back at work and continuing my electrical apprenticeship. I didn't want my disability stopping me doing anything. Ive done everything i wanted even bungee jumped in South Africa. 26 years later
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog.
I love the outdoors and love nature, so i thought I'd walk all the Wainwright's. 214 hills, fells, and mountains in the lake district. I've already done 9 and my wife said that I shouldn't just be doing it for me that I should be doing it for charity. So with the help of family and friends I'll be doing the next 205 fells and mountains, including scafell Pike, England's highest mountain each weekend until I've completed them all hopefully by January 2025. Just one carbon fibre foot after the other. Hope you can donate and/or share this page as Pendleside Hospice provides excellent care for people in need.
I'll be updating this page with pictures from various summits and nice views.
