Story

London Marathon 2025 / Rays of Sunshine ☀️

Hi Everyone!

What have I got myself into!? I guess most of you probably know me as one half of the skateboarding Smith twins. This year, at the tender age of 42, I've decided to dish out more punishment to my legs by trading my skateboard for running shoes as I take on the London Marathon 2025!

Like many people, I started running during lockdown as a way of keeping fit and holding onto my sanity. It's only over the last year that running has become more of a new passion. I'm not going to lie I have never run a marathon before and the thought of that distance actually terrifies me, however, I said to myself, if I was to ever run one, it would be London.

I have chosen to raise money for an amazing charity called Rays of Sunshine, they bring joy to seriously ill children in the UK by granting their wishes and creating magical moments. They support families going through really tough times, making dreams come true for these brave children.

I'm asking for your support to help this wonderful cause. Every donation, no matter how small, will help bring smiles to children's faces and make a real difference.

Training for this marathon is a huge challenge, but with your support, I’m sure I can do it. As a father of two amazing girls #girldad, I know how important it is to create happy memories for them, and I want to help Rays of Sunshine do that for other families.

Thank you for your support. Let's make a difference together!

We brighten the lives of seriously ill young people by granting wishes and providing ongoing support. Our wishes are as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a fireman, meet a real-life mermaid or even the Loch Ness Monster, we work hard to make that wish come true.
