Myself and Hannah are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 6th April 2025. We have both never ran more than 5k before this, so we need all the support we can get!!
We are running the half to raise money for Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity. We have chosen this charity as our beautiful friend Megan had been treated at these hospitals her whole life for a rare heart condition. On 9th September 2018 Meg sadly passed away at the Royal Brompton after complications following heart surgery.
We met Meg at uni, and let’s just say none of us were running gals. We know she would think it’s hilarious that Han and I are now deciding to run a half marathon in memory of her. It isn’t going to be an easy challenge, but Meg was always a yes girl and always the first person to take on new challenges so it’s only right we do the same.
Meg brought such positive energy to life and continued to help other people even after her passing, as an organ donor she gave many people a new chance at life. She has inspired us so much and we hope we can now do her proud!
The RBH charity funds innovative treatment, equipment and research at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, that fall outside of NHS funding. From the small but impactful, like camp beds for parents to stay beside their child at night, to bigger appeals such as our Transplant Appeal, funding pioneering technology to give more patients the chance of receiving a life-saving transplant.
We hope to raise as much as we can to support this crucial charity and remember our amazing girl, Meg. We really appreciate any donations you can give 💜
