Story
Twenty years ago, my gorgeous husband Craig, lost his battle to a brain tumour. He was 35 years old. Our life up to that point was wonderful, we lived in France, had two small children Holly, 6 and Alex, 4. Our lives fell apart.
This year the Ainslie family undertook the Yorkshire Three Peaks together to celebrate Craig and do something to help try to change the story for other people facing the same challenge, to stop more people losing their lives, to stop more children growing up without their dad. Our aim is to raise as much as we can for Brain Tumour Research.
After the 3 peaks, I decided to continue raising awareness and money for Brain Tumour Research and have signed up for the Sahara Trek in 2025...eek!!
Trekking over 4 days in the Sahara in temperatures of 30-35 degrees, it will be a different challenge but hopefully help to continue to raise awareness.
For me this whole process has been an emotional and healing journey that is hopefully also helping to make a difference in the fight to find a cure.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
Lots of love
