Will and I are taking on a climb with a difference and are going to experience the magic of the sunrise over Pen Y Fan.

In Isabelle’s memory, along with a small group of supporters remembering their loved ones, we are going on this unique adventure to support Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust.

This challenge will take a circular route to the summit of Pen y Fan, 886 metres above sea level.

Isabelle was diagnosed with a high grade brain tumour in January 2022. Then followed a harrowing nine month battle of procedures and treatments. Isabelle was, as always, a determined, strong and selfless young lady who continues to make us proud. Her smile lit up any room and her laugh was contagious.

In August 2022, we received the devastating news that the tumour had grown back and there was no further treatment.

Isabelle passed away on 9th September 2022 at Acorns children’s hospice in Selly oak. They looked after our whole family, giving us a home for a week while we spent time with Isabelle in her final days. An incredible place with amazingly caring staff.

The support from Acorns hasn’t stopped. We receive regular support from them. Sebastian, Isabelle's brother, has the most incredible sibling worker, Jess, who we couldn’t be without. Jess will be walking alongside us on this trek.

We are keen to raise money for this special charity to help other families in similar devastating situations.

Isabelle loved the outdoors, and at just 9 years old, climbed to the top of Snowdon. This trek feels apt and something she would have loved to do too.
