Story
On August 6th, I will be jumping out of a plane to raise some money to help insure a horse owned by the Richmond & Catterick Group Riding for the Disabled.
The new horse, Arnie, one of the Group’s two horses, costs £1,000 each year to insure. The Group is a charity that is completely self-funding and relies entirely on donations and funds to cover running costs – insuring Arnie is just one of these costs.
Coming from a care background, a keen rider myself, having seen a flyer and wanting to give something back, I knew that this Riding for the Disabled Group was for me.
As one of the volunteers, I feel very much part of the family and it is wonderful to see the disabled riders progress, enhancing their lives by improving their confidence, mobility and skills.
Now, as well as volunteering, I am studying to be a fully qualified coach.
I truly hope you can spare a few pounds to help me in this very personal challenge.
