Story

We did it!!!

So today was a very special day. The Jubilee Jewell’s have taught me what it means to be there for each other. I joined thinking it was a swim group 😉 Actually, it’s all about relationships and how we can help each other along over the bumps. And cake 🍰

In the same week I was added to the transplant waiting list, I was upheld by many with love, cheers and prayers and managed to do this 1km challenge. Praise God!

Huge thanks to many, many generous sponsors and to the amazing support crew. You have made a huge difference. One of the Jewell’s knows first hand what it is like to have the hospice there by sponsoring you have shown your love for people you haven’t met, and that is beautiful.

There’s still time to sponsor!

It’s what it’s all about, the wonderful Thames Hospice and all the staff there who are there for people when it’s needed.

Previously ….

I am taking part in the Thames Hospice Open Water Swim Challenge!

As Jeremy says, whilst I claim to be an open water swimmer, I really just have a regular Sunday quick dip and then drink tea and eat cake with a great gang, so signing up for the 1km swim will definitely be a stretch for me.

With dialysis on the horizon, open water swimming for me will be off the agenda soon, and health wise this event will be a challenge for me now. It definitely feels like doing this, this year, is an opportunity not to be missed. It will be great to tick off another challenge as completed and to raise money knowing what a difference it makes for there to be the right care available when it’s needed for patients and families who are facing the most difficult of challenges.

Thames Hospice are there to ensure that patients and their families are cared for with the utmost compassion, dignity and respect. Funds raised from this swim will ensure that Thames Hospice can continue to provide care to those in the local community.

Thanks to many incredible donations, I have been able to stretch my fundraising target so if you can, do support and let's really make a difference. Thank you for the many messages of support and cheering! I've added a few piccies of my training, mostly in Taplow lake but also lucky to do a little in Spain :-)
