Story

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to read my page!

Shine is a new charity to me having become the proud Aunt of the delightful Evie, who was adopted by my sister in 2022.

At the ripe age of 4 (although she seriously thinks she is 18), Evie has had a tough start in life, having developed Hydrocephalus after a premature birth, and subsequently suffering from Meningitis.

Having spent the first few months of her life in an incubator, and at the beginning of Covid, Evie remains a balanced healthy child and is enjoying learning to swim, playing football and annoying mummy!

She has just found the love of dogs with a new puppy - you can only imagine the chaos of a 4-year-old training a dog!

There have been a few scares along the way - life with such an illness is not easy, and with each day/month/year there are new challenges, but Shine have been there for us as a Family every step of the way and as such these valuable funds will help support the important work they complete on a daily basis.

As for me - I am really not a runner, just a plodder so I cannot guarantee any life changing record-breaking timings, but I can promise I will do my best to give back a little bit of support to those that have given to me.

In typical Jo fashion, there may be some fancy dress appearances (although not for the LLHM) but at my local Morrisons and the occasional bake sale, thus keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events.

In the meantime, if you can donate a few pennies, it would be very much appreciated.

Much Love

Aunty Jo Jo
