Story

Hello!

We are Team TBG and we are taking part in 24hrs Swim Relay Challenge at Shepperton Lake between 8th & 9th June 2024.

The purpose of this endurance event is to raise money for Level Water who provide 1-2-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities and therefore, provide them with an opportunity to learn new skills as well as to have some therapeutic fun in the process.

As for personal reasons, there is no better way of explaining why we are taking part in this crazy challenge, than in the words of our amazing Team Members …

Being a passionate swimmer my whole life and loving the sport in so many ways, it got me out of a lot of potential trouble as a kid, I missed my opportunity to join the Olympics but these days I'm a swim teacher I can only hope I send someone to the Olympics one day! Every child deserves such a life skill and the opportunity to take such a beautiful sport further! Tammy

With my previous swimming experiences being holiday pool cool down splash around or paddling to the swim up bar for a refreshing drink, I wanted to test myself by taking part in this swimming challenge. This for me is both mental and physical, all whilst being an opportunity to raise money for a great cause! David

Swimming is a life long love, different to any other. By supporting Level Water and this fantastic cause, we’re giving children the chance of a life time love that otherwise they may not enjoy. Will

Open water swimming is something I wanted to try for a long time, but up to recently I was always able to find an excuse. Signing up for this challenge gave me necessary push, whilst also contributing towards greater goal. Win Win. Kamil

Swimming for me can only be described as an unfair fight against elements that quickly turns into a showcase of windmilling. At least this time it is a fight for a right cause. Besides this noble cause, I am inspired by my cousin Asia who is about to become an Ironman in Frankfurt. The level of her effort, focus and determination is unmatched. Thank you for letting me being part of the team. Jan

Commitment = Awareness = Hope. We are a team swimming for the spirit of an amazing fundraising cause- please give generously ! Josh
