Story
It has been 6 weeks since I lost my amazing, caring & charismatic Nannie. A beautiful soul that brought so much joy in my life, and to many others. Life will never be the same without her.
My Nan required end of life care and we were given her diagnosis only 3 weeks before she sadly passed away. My Nan and our family received support from the palliative team in Hospital, to enable her to come home to die in the place she loved the most, surrounded by all of her family. We were not able to receive Hospice support for my Nan in the short time she was home, so I hope by raising more funds to Hospices gives everyone the chance to receive this care.
I would also like to dedicate this challenge to my lovely Nannie Carla and Auntie Carol who both lost their lives to cancer, and both needed Hospice support in their final weeks of life.
I am relatively new to cycling (other than cycling for fun as a child 😄). This will be the biggest sporting challenge I have ever completed, and I hope by raising the funds needed for the Hospice will motivate me and encourage me throughout the training and the ride itself.
I am truly grateful for any donations received, this will not only help me on my cycling challenge, but it will also continue supporting people who need help the most. If I can do anything to learn from my Nans sudden end of life diagnosis, it would be to continue ensuring healthcare teams and training is available to support families like mine in the hardest of times.
Thank you! 🚴♀️
