We put PF patient support & research first to give people a better life and a future

Story

Tim Hirst was a much loved friend and colleague who died in July 2019, at the age of only 39. His death was the result of complications following a lung transplant, which he required due to severe pulmonary fibrosis. Following a hugely successful sportive immediately after Tim’s death in 2019, we have decided to host another on his birthday weekend, 5 years on. This will be on Saturday 13th July 2024 in Upper Seagry, Chippenham. It will be an opportunity to remember Tim and, as he loved, to bring friends and family together and enjoy an activity (albeit with more lycra and less adrenaline than would have been Tim’s preference!). To take part in the event, either as a cyclist or as a spectator, please complete this form. There will be two routes, one approximately 35km, and the other approximately 100km. All proceeds from the event will go to Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and will be invested in further research into this devastating disease. Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is a growing community of patients, families, researchers and healthcare professionals who are striving to ensure that everyone affected by the disease has a better future. For any queries regarding the event please contact Jo (suthersjoanna_@hotmail.com) or Chris (chris.warren@georgevetgroup.co.uk).
