Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

A Charity very close to my heart .. Parkinson’s is cruel disease where you lose your loved one twice.& have to watch them struggle as they slowly lose the fight . Their personality completely changes at times with frustration. it’s so hard on all the family. But you can still make some happy memories.. Laughter can be the best tonic , music & just holding hands. It’s always the hardest on the spouse .. They are the unsung heroes.

My Dad & a friend of mine were diagnosed in their 40’s , My mom in law, Marilyn in her 60’s . The youngest person I have known was only 19 .. So it’s not just an old persons disease..

My dad is now in stage 4&5 of his journey .

Sadly too late to find a cure for my wonderful dad & Marilyn .. I have no target but want to raise as much money as I possibly can .. So donate as little or as much as you can every penny will be appreciated .

I will be sharing some videos I have been making of Dad .. I know he wants to help others & will be happy to do so. Even though he can’t express this anymore. These clips are incredibly special to me & my family.. I don’t share them lightly.. I am hoping they will be a source of awareness.. But comfort to me & my family in times to come xx

My Dad will always be the best Husband, Grandi, & Pops to me , my sister & family xx

As will Marilyn be the the best wife, mom , Nan to John , Jackie, Julie , Dave & family xx

There is no cure for Alzheimers, Dementia or Parkinsons.

Current treatment options to slowdown the symptoms for people suffering from ADP, range from drugs that help to boost the chemicals in the brain that pass on messages, to alternative therapies and counselling that help people to come to terms with the condition and its implications.

For people diagnosed with dementia there is no way to reverse the damage that has been sustained or to halt the progress of the disease. Treatment plans focus on trying to slow down progression of the disease, coming to terms with the diagnosis and putting personalised plans for care in place.

There is a real need to find a cure for this life-changing and life-limiting condition
