Story
Hey there,
I am joining Women Who Code (WWCode) to the Finish Line to empower diverse women to excel in tech careers.
Did you know that a whopping 56% of women decide to step away from the tech industry after 10-20 years in their careers? That's twice the rate of men. It's a statistic that caught my attention, and I think it's crucial for us to take a closer look.
In 2022, women made up only 26% of the tech workforce, and if we don't address the reasons behind this exodus, that number is likely to dwindle further.
But here's the thing – having more women in tech brings a wealth of benefits. It's not just about equality; it's about enhancing the entire industry. Gender diversity is a driving force behind technology's ability to meet the evolving needs of our society. Different perspectives and fresh ideas can truly transform the tech landscape.
So, let's all work together to create a more inclusive tech environment. It's not just about numbers; it's about the richness of ideas and experiences that a diverse workforce brings.
Cheers to a tech world where everyone feels welcome and valued!

WWCode to the Finish Line turns movement into mission impact through donor support. My fundraising goal is £500. I will walk, run, or roll 1 mile/1.6 km (2,600 steps) to raise funds for Women Who Code’s mission and increase visibility for their work.
2,600 represents the national percentage of women in tech—26%. WWCode wants to move the needle on equality and diversity and change the face of tech so that we can positively impact individuals.
Donate today to close the gender gap in tech.
