My marathon running days may be over, but thanks to the amazing Air Ambulance team I have every chance of making a good recovery following a serious road traffic accident in early December. In recent weeks I reached the milestone of being able to walk one mile, so now I am going to challenge myself to walk a mile every day in April. It may not sound much, but considering I had 9 broken bones and extensive plastic surgery just 12 weeks ago, hopefully you’ll appreciate the efforts involved! If I can manage to raise some funds for the Air Ambulance as I go then that would be brilliant.

The service DSAA provide is 95% funded by charitable giving. Last year, they were tasked to 2,909 incidents, with each mission costing approximately £3,500.
