Jo's long walk and fundraiser for Missing People

Isle of Wight challenge 2025 · 3 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
When I got a cheeky email (you know who you are) from my team asking if I'd consider this epic walk I said yes in a heartbeat!
Only then did the challenge of the 106km walk dawn on me. For those who think in miles, that's 65.8653 miles. So, to be clear - this will be no walk in the park for me.
I did the classic - 'got all the gear' - no idea style. These are my sparkling new boots! Mud-less, mile-less and expectant. (Skechers with arch support for my flat footedness if you really want to know). Raring to go and ready for their very first step!

Every step will be in solidarity with people who are missing, lost and in crisis and families left behind living with the pain of missing a loved one.
In the time it takes you to read this, another person in the UK will go missing.
Together we can be a lifeline for missing people in crisis and their families. Your donation will mean another call answered on our Helpline. Another child facing exploitation or abuse connected to social services by our team. Another adult in mental health crisis supported to reconnect with family or friends and face another tomorrow. Another family helped by our counsellors to cope with their trauma.
Thankfully, in that moment of crisis there is hope. Light in the dark. Every step of the way.
I hope you can support, or walk, or sponsor or spread the word or just bear with me whilst I do my regular updates, well - thank you. And thanks to fabulous friends and supporters already putting in the steps, proud to be supporting - with only a teeny weeny hint of the 'what the heck have you got me in to'.
Thank you - updates to follow! Jo x
