Story
Nancy is completing 5 bucket list wishes for Schnauzerfest #GiveUs5. I will be donating £5 for each bucket list item. A little on Nancy’s story and why this is so very important below:
Nancy was rescued from a puppy farm 3 years ago. Schnauzerfest helped her by supplying a grant to cover her vet bills while in rescue.
Nancy was broken, she was physically & mentally damaged by the abuse she had suffered. She didn’t exist until the day she was rescued. Nancy struggled to adjust to a life of love but really started to enjoy her freedom. Shortly after Nancy came home she was diagnosed with a life limiting illness, one she had clearly suffered with during her time in the puppy farm. Without treatment or care it is a miracle she survived. During the last 3 years she has faced many setbacks but came back stronger each time.
8 weeks ago Nancy underwent life saving surgery having a tumour removed & her bowel resectioned. Unfortunately the news came that Nancy has a rare type of cancer with no known treatment & it has already spread. Her diagnosis is terminal. The decision was made to trial oral chemotherapy to try and maintain quality of life and hopefully slow the spread. Nancy remains brave and stoic throughout. A testament to how strong and determined to survive these special dogs are.
Please help us raise money for Schnauzerfest to help the next Nancy live their very best life. These dogs deserve every chance we can give them to live a healthy life. Schnauzerfest does this by supplying grants for the high vet bills rescues face.
