Please scroll down the list on the Sea to Summit team page to donate to the team members’ pages.

On Saturday 13th May from 10am-12noon, Jo Holmes will be holding a coffee morning at her house (Cherry Trees, Old Abbey Road) in aid of Reverse Rett. The suggested donation is £10 through this page, or in cash on the day. Donations of baking also welcome! It would be great to see you there if you are able to come along.

Jo and six friends from East Lothian have formed a team called Sea to Summit. In October, they will be climbing Kilimanjaro and raising money for Reverse Rett, in support of Catherine McKinney’s daughter, 11-year-old Eliza, and others with this devastating condition.

Rett Syndrome is a rare genetic condition which affects 1 in 10,000 girls born each year. It is not hereditary and happens spontaneously, so it can affect any family. Those affected have multiple severe and complex disabilities for life.

Eliza lives with her parents and three siblings in North Berwick. She developed normally as a baby, but regressed before her second birthday, and is now unable to walk, unable to talk, unable to use her hands and she suffers from the many complications of Rett, including epilepsy.

Reverse Rett are the only charity in the UK funding research into a cure for her condition. Please donate or come along to the coffee morning if you can.
