Story
I do my Walk for AV 💙. A true gentleman who I have had the pleasure to learn from, be inspired by, and who has provided me with the necessary critical thinking that has given me the tools to be a great researcher. Albeit you do not live in the UK, I do this for you, for your family, and families all around the world who face the challenges that come with Alzheimer's.
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time.
Research funded by Alzheimer’s Society is going towards training healthcare practitioners to communicate with GPs to help create personalised dementia care plans. Dr Sarah Griffiths, based at University London, is developing the training with the aim to help these practitioners in supporting GPs in the creation of meaningful and individualised care plans for people with dementia. The goal is to improve the quality of care for people living with dementia, enhancing their overall well-being and addressing their specific care requirements.
Research wouldn’t be able to take these strides to make the world more dementia friendly without your incredible fundraising efforts, thank you!💙 We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support.
By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this. Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you don't need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
