Through April, Higher Achievement is fundraising to send scholars on summer college visits. The money raised will help cover the costs of these visits, which give our scholars the opportunity to explore campuses and start learning about their choices. This is an chance for them to start planning for their bright futures!

Higher Achievement is a non-profit with a mission to make a difference in the lives of the DC area's youth with an afterschool program that offers 5th-8th graders support and weekly mentoring.

As a mentor (go Ward 4!), I see the direct impact that the Higher Achievement program brings - we are building soft/people skills, expanding their knowledge of the world, encouraging them on their unique journeys, and offering both academic and social-emotional support during their pivotal middle school years.

I am 100% confident that these college visits will be enormously impactful. It's never to soon to start setting young people's sights on education goals and establishing dreams that can and will become reality.
