Story
Oh you’ve run a marathon? London? Berlin?
Cool.
Well I’m running the ORIGINAL marathon. The first person to do it died.
42.2km, let’s fetz!
As a guy with a lifelong stutter, as I get older I’m growing more conscious of my responsibility to those coming to terms with it too. Whether you’ve noticed me stammering or not, every word I say is tinged with the anxiety that I might not be able to say it. Every phone call a worry that I can’t speak. And every time I have to say my name, a speech block followed by “what, have you forgotten your name?!”
No I haven’t, it’s how I talk. And I’m fucking proud of it.
So. I’m raising money for a charity that means so much to me personally, something that will help those who need help understanding their place in a world that expects fluency, and something that connects me to a part of myself that I spent my life trying to hide.
Give me a fiver!
