Aberdeen Jail or Bail · 23 February 2024 ·

Eleven local business leaders have been found guilty of outrageous charges and locked up for Maggie's Aberdeen. With only a phone, laptop and their powers of persuasion, they now need your help to raise funds to pay their bail and escape jail.

Story

I am one of eleven local businesspeople who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of excessive hugging and spreading goodwill without a permit, and sent down with bail set at £1,000.

With only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, I need your help to raise funds to pay bail and escape jail.

As retired police Officer I couldn’t miss the "Jail or Bail " opportunity! I’ve experienced the support of the team at Maggie's Aberdeen and would love to take part in this fun and unique way of raising funds for the incredible work and support offered to cancer patients and their loved ones.

I believe I won’t be in ‘solitary confinement’ for too long when I’m on the other side of the bars!

For many people living in the Northeast, Maggie's Aberdeen is a beacon of hope, offering a unique programme of practical and psychological support, available free of charge to people at any stage and with any type of cancer, and to their family and friends.

In the past decade Maggie’s Aberdeen have received over 80,000 visits, provided tens of thousands of hours of 1-2-1 psychological and specialist cancer support and raised £9,000,000 in financial gains for local people. They rely entirely on voluntary donations and gifts in wills to fund their work, and with instances of cancer 1 in 2 people, there is huge demand for the support they provide. Please bail me out and help Maggie’s – every £ will help.
