Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ten years after we reestablished a Jewish community in York – once an important medieval Jewish centre and site of a notorious massacre of its Jewish population – we have just appointed the first resident rabbi since the expulsion of the Jews from England in 1290.
Now we want to make this part-time post full-time. We have already raised £75k ourselves but we now need to double that (£25k per year for the next three years) to make the most of the appointment.
This is a unique story. York has a special place in Jewish history and the revival of Judaism in the City is a vivid rebuttal of those that would destroy us. So please support us if you can. All donations however big or small hugely appreciated.
