Jessie's fundraiser for the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation

Bath 50 Ultra Challenge 2025 · 29 March 2025 ·
As an author, literacy is hugely important to me. It empowers and liberates individuals and whole communities through education and the arts, and is something to be nurtured by everyone around the world.
On 29th March 2025, I'll be walking 50km around the beautiful city of Bath to raise money to support literacy projects. And, as the author of Austen-inspired novels, what better charity could I choose than the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation!*
Founded by Jane Austen’s Chawton family in 2014, the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation is a volunteer-run registered charity, making a global impact to literacy.
The Foundation’s purpose is to get children and adults reading and writing more, and to support literacy programmes in developing communities.
• Thousands of people around the world read and write more with Jane Austen Literacy Foundation literacy activities
• Jane Austen Literacy Foundation volunteers have given their time and expertise to support literacy in over 100 schools
• The literacy of over 1100 children in developing communities is financially supported by the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation
*In honour of Jane Austen’s 250th birthday in 2025, the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation is working with The National Literacy Trust to support literacy projects in the UK. Your donation will go directly to the work supported by the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation.
