Story
Shockingly, the biggest killer of people under the age of 35 and the biggest killer of men under the age of 50 is suicide.
Between 1.25 and 3.4 million people in the UK are affected in some way by an eating disorder - 25% of these being men and a staggering 75% of women within the UK alone.
In the UK, over 8 million people are experiencing an anxiety disorder at any one time, and less than 50% of people with generalised anxiety disorder will seek or have access to treatment.
The Mental Health Foundation works towards good mental health for all; as everyone knows, prevention is better than cure - everything they do is focused on protecting people's mental health.
This work involves rigorous research and practical projects to identify what's most helpful, public information that empowers people to look after their mental health and influencing work to move policies in the right direction.
With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.
I'm raising money to help support the research and raising of awareness of Mental Disorders and Mental Health issues - to help you, your family, your friends, your colleagues. 1 in 4 people will be affected by negative mental health in some way, lets not be another statistic.
Please help me to raise £500 in aid of The Mental Health Foundation, while I take on my first Half Marathon Race - I'll be racing 21KM or 13 Miles around Snowdonia on the 29th June 2024.
