Story
At the end of March I'll be waking in the Birmingham walk of light in support of blood cancer research UK.
Blood Cancer is something I never thought I'd experience at such a young age, but life is all about expecting the unexpected, rather than being bitter about the situation I've allowed it to teach me a number of things. Gratitude, growth, optimism, determination... the list goes on.
After beginning this year on a high travelling South East Asia, my final destination in New Zealand visiting Family took an unexpected turn, In July 2023 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Classical Hodgkin's lymphoma after discovering a few changes in my body. The journey home began to begin my next journey.
After starting Chemotherapy at the beginning of September, I endured 4 rounds which was followed by a 'Follow up' PET scan.
On the 7th of November I got the phone call to say I was in complete metabolic remission, which means no signs of disease could be detected, this has been an overwhelming outcome which wouldn't have been possible without the amazing research over the years.
I still have to complete my original treatment plan which was always to endure 6 cycles of chemotherapy (12 individual rounds) every two weeks.
I'm due to finish in February 2024 and will be walking in the walk of light for blood cancer, in support of those going through the same/similar as myself.
Blood cancer uk help research and support those in need, to help fight against Lymphoma, Myeloma, Leukaemia and all types of Blood Cancer.
I'd really appreciate if you could spare anything at all to help deliver hopeful outcomes and accelerate research.
