Story

Well, I must be mad. Terrified of heights and planes but here we go! 💪🏼

Our little Piglet was suddenly transported to Great Ormond Street hospital at 2 weeks old, on life support.

We had no time to even think about things such as where we were going to stay, how we would afford to pay to stay in London, if we could sleep at the hospital. And then, all of a sudden we were approached and The Sick Children's Trust had a house, just around the corner and they wanted to offer us a room to stay in while our baby was in hospital.

To have somewhere to lay our head at night, with a direct line to the hospital, knowing we were only around the corner from our boy was just everything we needed and didn't realise. The team cooked up a huge meal for all families that were there one evening and we felt surrounded by such care and love at a terrifying time.

When a child suddenly becomes ill, there's no time to plan. The Sick Children's Trust is the charity that gives families one less thing to worry about by giving them a place to stay, and someone to talk to, free of charge just minutes from their child's bedside.

With the help of so many generous supporters, like our daredevil skydivers, we have helped over 73,000 families since 1982, with a welcoming place to stay when they have really needed it.
