Story
On 24 April 2023, the world lost one of the most incredible people, Jawad Elattar.
There are so many words we could use to describe Jawad. A gentleman. Insightful. Charismatic. Selfless. Attentive. Charismatically stubborn. Inspiring. One of a Kind.
But ill was never one of them. Jawad was living with MS when he passed away and, other than his bad-ass cane he'd whip out of nowhere, you wouldn't know. He never let his diagnosis stop him from living his life to the fullest and being Jawad.
In honour of Jawad, who went from running the London Marathon (with no training may I add) to always being on the sidelines cheering us on, I’m aiming to raise funds for the MS Trust.
What is MS? Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological condition that causes damage to the nerves in your brain and spinal cord (the central nervous system). Sclerosis means scarring and refers to the damage to the nerves caused by MS. It's unpredictable. Some people may be mildly affected, others may lose the ability to see clearly, write, speak or walk.
The MS Trust is there to help everyone make sense of MS, from the moment of diagnosis, throughout their journey, making sure a life with MS isn't a life defined by MS. The way Jawad wanted it.
