Story
I've done a crazy thing and signed up to my biggest challenge yet and I need your support to make it worthwhile!
It's fair to say I am not a natural runner and I will not find the training for this easy. I started with the couch to 5km in lockdown and had to restart it 3 times because I just kept stopping for weeks at a time. It's been a whole journey already, from a torn ACL, to trying to get fit and losing around 20kg along the way. I am proud of where I have got to already, but I have a lot more work to do to make a marathon possible!
I'm excited for the challenge but also terrified and worried it is not possible! But it is all worthwhile for the amazing charity I am running for. Shooting Star Children's Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families across Surrey and London. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count.
I have had the pleasure of attending one of their wonderful hospices, meeting their amazing team and seeing the work they do to support families. I have done a number of events for them already and done some volunteering there as well, but I am keen to make this my biggest fundraising event yet.
Thanks for your support in advance :) And please put the 27th April 2025 in your diary and come and cheer me on, I will need all the help I can get!
