Story
It's that time of year; marathon season is upon us. After years of failed attempts, Jess and Josh will finally be running the 2024 London Marathon, and we will be doing so for the NSPCC.
To give some perspective on the need for the charity, analysis done by the NSPCC found that just under 80,000 children were sexually abused in the United Kingdom in 2018/2019. To put this statistic into some hard-hitting terms, that works out as roughly one child being raped, groomed or sexually assaulted in the UK every 7 minutes... every 7 minutes. If that number isn't devastating enough, once you include physical and emotional maltreatment, that number jumps to a harrowing 500,000 children suffering from abuse every year.
As some of you will know from a previous fundraising campaign Josh did in 2021, the NSPCC is a charity that's very close to the hearts of everyone in our immediate family for a number of reasons, and the work this organisation does is truly life-changing for many vulnerable children across the country.
He can't overstate how grateful he was for the £5,000 you all helped him to raise to support this amazing charity. But it's been nearly 3 years, and the problem still persists.
Anything you can give to support this wonderful charity will be appreciated more than we can say. Just £5 will cover the cost of answering one call to the NSPCC helpline. Thank you so much!
