Story
After about 14 years of appointments, repeatedly being misdiagnosed and generally being ignored, I finally received my endometriosis diagnosis at the beginning of this year. I am so grateful to the team at St George’s in Tooting for truly listening to me and performing such a successful surgery. But I am also thankful for the work Endometriosis UK does for those of us living with this awful chronic condition. There is so much more to be done and such a long way to go, so I am helping raise awareness by walking 8k steps a day in July to reflect the 1in10 with endometriosis who wait an average of over 8 years to get a diagnosis.
I know it isn’t necessarily easy for everyone right now and I don’t want to beg for sponsors, but if you can, please support and donate to Endometriosis UK (or come join me for some steps xo)
Likewise, you can support by raising awareness and can read a little more about my journey here: https://www.tyla.com/life/true-life/woman-endometriosis-diagnosis-symptoms-explained-415261-20240329
