Story
September 2023 ends 6 years of hard training to raise as much money for charities close to my heart (to date over £16,000 for The Lullaby Trust, & Spread a Smile) by obtaining The London Classic Medal - Run - Bike - Swim; London Marathon - 2017, London Ride 100 - 2023, Swim Serpentine - 2023.
To mark this momentous occasion I am, for the last time, asking you to dig deep into your pockets to help me raise as much money for an amazing charity; Samuel's Charity To support seriously and terminally ill children, and their families, in hospital and at home, across the UK.
At the start of September 2013 Samuel was admitted to St George's hospital in South London. He was diagnosed with a cancer, one that is very rare – Precursor T-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This particular type had not been seen before. This meant the treatment for it wasn’t black and white, and there was trial and error in the type of treatment he got..
What is even more amazing is that Samuel wanted to help other children and their families in similar situations as he was in. Samuel started this charity to help really sick kids and their families get through what is most likely the worst time in their lives, to make their time more bearable and to bring some relief, fun and hope to their day.
Samuel had such a big heart and just some of things he has achieved, both before and after his passing are:
- Comfort Kits - games, headphones, eye mask, notepad and pens
- Fund what statutory authorities can't provide for
- Child friendly bed or room decoration
- Help parents feel supported, including more comfortable sofa chairs for the nights
On Wednesday 22nd January 2014 Samuel lost his fight. He was 9 years old.
Please please PLEASE give as generously as you can, in memory of this amazing boy!
Thanks
Jeremy (soon to be London Classics Medal Holder)
