Story

Jeremy Jones-Bateman and Jonny Spadaccini UCO School of Osteopathy (Health Sciences University) and Dr Tristan Barber and Alan Hunter from the Ian Charleson Clinic, Royal Free Hospital will be fundraising for the Ian Charleson Clinic, Royal Free Charity

The Royal Free Charity exists to support patients, staff, and researchers across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. We are excited to participate in the World AIDS Day 10k Red Run to raise funds specifically for the Ian Charleson Clinic (ICDC) at the Royal Free Hospital.

The ICDC provides a friendly and comprehensive service, offering world-class care for those living with HIV. They are dedicated to helping individuals who may be concerned about HIV, those experiencing early symptoms, or anyone who has been exposed. Their open-access service means patients do not need a referral from a GP or healthcare professional, making it easier for anyone to seek help.

Why Support the Ian Charleson Clinic?

Confidential and Supportive Care: The ICDC offers a confidential service where your privacy is paramount. Practitioners will not notify your GP, partner, friends, or family without your permission.

Free, Confidential Testing: The clinic provides free and confidential testing for HIV, as well as advice, counseling, treatment, and ongoing monitoring, including blood tests for anyone affected by HIV.

Comprehensive Health Services: The clinic features several in-house specialists who manage a wide variety of related health conditions, including kidney, heart, lung, and metabolic issues. They also offer clinics for those with multiple infections, such as tuberculosis or hepatitis.

Dedicated Services:

Onsite osteopathic treatment offered by students from the UCO School of Osteopathy (Health Sciences University).

Women’s healthcare, including gynecological advice, contraception, and menopause support.

A dedicated HIV antenatal team.

A pharmacy service providing specialist advice on HIV and related medications.

Psychological and psychiatric support.

An inpatient unit for individuals living with HIV who require hospital care.
