Story
This year, I will be running my third London Marathon in aid of the new cancer and surgical innovation centre at the Royal Surrey County hospital. It's a bit crazy to do it at my ripe old age of 57 and I promise this is the last!
I launched this campaign in September 2021 to raise additional funds for the new centre having secured £25m of NHS funding. Since then, we have raised an additional £470,000 towards this amazing new Centre which will revolutionise surgery while making it possible for an additional 7,000 patients a year to benefit from surgical procedures, including lifesaving cancer surgery. £70k of that total has come from my two earlier marathons so please help me turn it into over £100k!
The Royal Surrey is already a nationally leading specialist cancer centre, with renowned expertise in the use of minimal access surgery and robotics combined with high-quality enhanced recovery peri-operative care. It is where my brother Charlie's cancer was first diagnosed and it is only because he twisted my arm that I ended up running the London Marathon at all. Lots of his friends and family will be running with me - so watch out for our Team Chazza t-shirts!
Anything you can spare for my latest fundraiser would be hugely appreciated - so many of us have been affected in some way by this awful, cruel disease. Together, we can fight cancer and one day create a world without it causing so much heartbreak.
Thank you
Jeremy
