Story

In memory of Ken, Dutts, Steve and Nelly...

Losing loved ones to cancer is an incredibly difficult and deeply upsetting time for all, which is why charities such as St John's Hospice are so important in ensuring that, on the journey towards end of life, the right care is provided in the right place and at the right time.

In memory of dear friends taken far too soon by this cruel disease (Ken Harper, Paul Dutton, Steve Miller and Alan Nelson), I’ll be taking part in a challenging five-day trek across sections of the Great Wall of China, including the 1,000 steps up to the wall at Mutianyu and culminating with the ascent of the 'Heavenly Ladder', to raise vital funds for St John's Hospice, whose income is generated mostly through fundraising.

St John's Hospice is a local charity which provides compassionate, free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions. Covering a population area of 250,000 people in North Lancashire, South Lakes, and parts of North Yorkshire, they have been caring for the community continuously since 1986.

Whether you can donate £5, £50, or £500, every contribution makes a massive difference in supporting this incredible charity. The funds raised will directly help provide essential care for patients in their final stages of life, as well as crucial support for their loved ones. Any donation, big or small, is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much! x
