Just over three years ago, while cycling, I was involved in an accident with a car which gave me a serious brain injury and nearly ended my life. I spent the subsequent months relearning life skills and adapting to my mental abilities post accident. Luckily for me, with huge assistance from my wife, I’ve made a good recovery. My consultant, on discharging me, described me as one of their lucky ones. This is my first sportive since my accident and I’m thrilled to be participating in the Newark Castle Sportive and fundraising for Reach, a fantastic local charity. Our goal is to raise awareness of Reach and the invaluable support they provide to local people with learning disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives in our community.
