Story
Mum of two, Jenny Gill was with diagnosed with Signet Cell Cancer in March 2024, which is also known as signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC). It's a rare, aggressive cancer that can develop in many organs. She was given less than a year to live.
In true Jenny style, she is determined to fight and make the most of her time with us all. So, a year on, with the help of chemotherapy, the love of friends and family and the need of what she calls 'the fire in her belly', Jenny is enjoying all life has to offer. And wants to complete a particular mission.
She wants to raise awareness of this awful cancer, that often goes undiagnosed and undetected. To support the organisations working tirelessly with people who are diagnosed. And to inject this work with hope, joy and fun.
Help us raise vital funds, as we put on a fantastic night with funds raised to to split equally between St Julia's Hospice and The Treliske Research Team. The funding will be specific for reasearch on stomach cancer.
Not everyone will be able to attend the auction, so we have set up this page so you can still donate to St Julia's Hospice.
This heartfelt cause began with Jenny’s journey following her diagnosis in 2024. Thanks to the unwavering support of an incredible medical team, family, and friends, she never had to face it alone
Now, you have the chance to make a difference too.
Cornwall Hospice Care say their purpose is to provide compassionate, specialised end of life care for patients, their families and carers at the time when they need it most. Together with their local community in Cornwall they continue to make every day matter.
They strive to develop and secure the resources necessary to achieve this, both now and in the future. With only 17% of funding coming from Cornwall's NHS Commissioners, the rest is raised with the support of the people of Cornwall and beyond - thank you all.
