Story

(Cymraeg isod)

I’ve signed up to run the SheUltra in Pen Llyn in April, and will be raising money for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO).

The OVMRO team is made up of volunteers who are mountaineers with vast local knowledge and first aid training. They’re on call 24 hours a day, and carry out approximately 120 rescues a year; giving up their free time to help others.

Mountain rescue don’t charge for their service, but that doesn’t mean it is free. All the expenses of rescue are covered by voluntary donations and fundraising. I would really like to raise money to help show appreciation for their effort and dedication in helping both local people and visitors to Eryri.

Many of my close friends and family enjoy outdoor activities, and as a local who often walks and runs in the area, it is so reassuring to know that they’re there, should anything go wrong.

Any sponsorship, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated 😊 and will go towards helping the team buy and maintain life-saving kit.

£5 buys a bottle of Paramo Nikwax

£10 goes towards batteries for the torches, GPS and night vision kits

£25 is a DMM Pivot belay device

£75 buys a helmet for a team member

If I hit my target of £500, the money could cover the cost of two team member rucksacks and help to stock the freezer to feed the rescue team after they are on an incident (often in the middle of the night!)

Right - now to get on with the training!

Rwyf wedi cofrestru i wneud y SheUltra ym Mhen Llyn mis Ebrill, a byddaf yn codi arian i Sefydliad Achub Mynydd Dyffryn Ogwen.

Mae’r tîm yn cynnwys gwirfoddolwyr sy'n fynyddwyr gyda gwybodaeth leol helaeth a hyfforddiant cymorth cyntaf. Maen nhw ar alwad 24 awr y dydd, ac yn cyflawni tua 120 o achubiadau’r flwyddyn; gan roi o’u hamser rhydd i helpu eraill.

Nid yw achub mynydd yn codi tâl am eu gwasanaeth, ond nid yw hynny'n golygu ei fod yn rhad ac am ddim. Mae holl gostau achub yn cael eu talu gan roddion gwirfoddol a chodi arian. Hoffwn godi arian i helpu i ddangos gwerthfawrogiad am eu hymdrech a'u hymroddiad i helpu pobl leol ac ymwelwyr ag Eryri.

Mae llawer o fy ffrindiau agos a fy nheulu yn mwynhau gweithgareddau awyr agored, ac fel person lleol sy’n aml yn cerdded ac yn rhedeg yn yr ardal, mae mor galonogol gwybod eu bod yno, pe bai unrhyw beth yn mynd o’i le.

Byddai unrhyw nawdd, waeth pa mor fawr neu fach, yn cael ei werthfawrogi'n fawr 😊 ac yn mynd tuag at helpu'r tîm i brynu a chynnal offer achub bywyd.

Mae £5 yn prynu potel o Paramo Nikwax

Mae £10 yn mynd tuag at fatris ar gyfer y fflachlampau, GPS a chitiau golwg nos

Mae £25 yn ddyfais belay Pivot DMM

Mae £75 yn prynu helmed i aelod o'r tîm

Pe bawn i’n cyrraedd fy nharged o £500, gallai’r arian dalu cost sachau teithio dau aelod o’r tîm a helpu i stocio’r rhewgell i fwydo’r tîm achub ar ôl iddynt fod ar ddigwyddiad (yn aml yng nghanol y nos!)

Reit - nawr i fwrw ymlaen â'r ymarfer!
