I'm taking part in the October Dog Walking Challenge!

October Dog Walking Challenge · 1 October 2023 to 31 October 2023 ·
I'm taking part in the October Dog Walking Challenge to support families facing dementia. I very sadly lost a very special Uncle and Aunt to dementia so we are walking in their memories. Uncle Ian a GP saved my life when I was 19 and I am forever grateful to him. He was full of nonsense and fun and is so sorely missed. Aunty Barb was just the kindest soul, loved by us all, she adored a naughty joke and was a tremendously talented crafter.
A few illnesses have tried to knock me off my perch but I’m very thankful to still be around and be able to enjoy our dog walks, so this challenge is up our street and cockers Jam and Pie will be joining me enthusiastically. We’ll be very grateful if anyone can spare £1 or 2 for this very worthwhile charity.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
