The Wigan 10k is Joining Jack's flagship fundraising event. Every penny raised at the Wigan 10k goes to Joining Jack to fund research, clinical trial positions and potential treatments for ALL boys living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Story

The Wigan 10k is organised by Joining Jack, a charity set up in 2012 by the parents of Jack Johnson, who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) at the age of three. Duchenne is a debilitating muscle-wasting condition for which there is currently no cure.

Joining Jack raises money for ALL boys living with Duchenne, funding research into potential treatments, clinical posts and the hope one day of a cure.

The Wigan 10k was launched in 2013 and has been staged every September since including a virtual event during the global pandemic. It is Joining Jack's flagship fundraising event and every penny raised on the day will go to Team JJ in the continuing fight to end Duchenne.

Me and my colleagues are running the Wigan 10k to also raise awareness for Suicide Prevention which is close to all our hearts.

Wish us luck!! ❤️🤍

Recent scientific breakthroughs mean that the development of a treatment is closer than ever, and this will not only help Jack but all sufferers of DMD.
