Jennifer's fundraiser for Sepsis Research FEAT

Netball Tournament · 23 March 2025
Hi there! I’m organising a charity netball tournament to support two incredible charities close to my heart: The UK Sepsis Trust and Sepsis Research FEAT. Sepsis affects 245,000 people in the UK every year and is responsible for the deaths of more people than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined.
In September 2024, I became critically ill when a simple throat infection turned septic, causing me to be placed in a ventilated coma and spend a total of three weeks in intensive care and HDU. I am incredibly lucky to be here today, and as a frequent player in the Go Mammoth Balham leagues this experience was a shocking reminder of how quickly sepsis can affect anyone no matter how young, fit or healthy you are.
I have chosen to split the money raised equally between The UK Sepsis Trust and Sepsis Research FEAT. Sepsis Research FEAT is a registered charity (SC049399) and is the UK’s only sepsis research charity.
We currently don't understand enough about sepsis and the biological processes that can lead to serious illness or even death. That is why we urgently need to increase funding to raise awareness of sepsis, and for research to understand the processes that lead to sepsis, design effective treatments for it & to help save lives.
Your support can make a difference in understanding sepsis better and ultimately saving lives. Together, we can turn awareness into action!
