Story

Hiya everyone,

In October I will be completing 125 swimming lengths in order to raise money for this amazing charity. As many of you know when I was 28 weeks pregnant with Max an ultrasound picked up something wrong with his heart - my care was then transferred to the amazing St Thomas Hospital in London where their specialist cardiac professor diagnosed Max with having some serious congenital heart conditions. Max was then born at St Thomas hospital in London and had a procedure on his heart on day 2, he then spent nearly 5 weeks in intensive care receiving the most amazing care. (I can't speak highly enough of the support and care that we recieved and feel truly blessed.)

My boy is a miracle and an absolute warrior and the ongoing care and support that we recieve is incredible. I couldn't be prouder to be his mum and would love to raise some money for this incredible charity in honour of my very own heart warrior. (Who is doing so well, he really is like any other 1 and a half year old.)

Having a poorly child can feel so scary and isolating to start with so charities like this one are crucial for so many reasons as they really make you feel part of a community.

A note below from tiny tickers.....

"1 in every 125 babies in the UK will be born with some form of congenital heart defect. I'm taking on the 125 challenge this October to raise vital funds to help support early detection, diagnosis, care & support of these special babies and their incredible families. Please help me, to help them.

Just £10 can offer vital support to a family who have received a diagnosis of CHD for their new baby.

£12 sends a pack of data sonography cards to assist with scanning.

£100 can help train a sonographer to better detect heart defects at the 20 week scan.

Every penny raised can make a huge difference to what we can achieve together."

Thank you for your support in making a better start for these tiny hearts like my little Max, any donation will be incredibly appreciated

xxxxxx

A baby is born with a serious heart condition every 2 hours in the UK and despite congenital heart disease being one of the biggest killers of infants, less than half of these conditions are picked up during pregnancy. That's why Tiny Tickers exists, to give these babies a better start in life.
