Story
Our lovely friend Becky Gray was an awesome all-round athlete with a real sense of adventure. She was always up for a sporting challenge. Sadly, she passed away after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer on 15th October 2023. During her illness she inspired all her friends and family with the physical endeavours she undertook to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and fundraise for her chosen charities - including Cyclists Fighting Cancer who do so much to enable children and families living with cancer to use cycling as part of their rehabilitation.
In memory of Becky, in June 2024 we hope to complete the Coast to Coast 150 mile bike ride from Seascale on the West coast to Whitby on the East coast of England in one day (hopefully!) for this brilliant cause. Any small amount of sponsorship you can give will be greatly received - Thank you!
Every year in the UK 2,400 children are diagnosed with cancer and Cyclists Fighting Cancer are passionate about helping all these families along this difficult journey.
Physical activity and exercise is recognised as one of the most effective ways of improving physical and mental health and wellbeing for children being treated for cancer and beyond. CFC promote cycling as it is an excellent form of physical activity - low impact, accessible, outdoor, sociable and fun!
Since 2005 we have helped 9,000 children by providing them with new lightweight bikes and specially adapted trikes, to enable them to get outside, get active and have much some much needed fun!
