After completing my first marathon in Edinburgh 11 years ago, it has been an ambition of mine to secure a place in the London Marathon some day - both for personal challenge/achievement, and to raise funds for a really important cause. Well, that day has come. This year I have been lucky enough to get a place to run on behalf of Save the Children UK - a charity which seeks to aid deprived, neglected and/or endangered children across the world. In particular this year they continue to galvanise support for the children affected by the Russia/Ukraine and Israeli/Gaza conflicts. The importance of their work should not be underestimated.

I appreciate everyone's finances are being squeezed at the moment, but I ask you to consider the desperate situation of so many children across the world. Any donation amount, combined with others, really will make a difference.
