Story
The Wolf Run is something I've always thought about doing but it's not till it coincided with wanting to raise money for Home-Start South Warwickshire that I took the plunge and decided to go for it...and made Kate promise to do it with me.
Since then we've managed to recruit another 20 wonderful people to join our team and I dare say I'm excited to do the race with them.
I'm not a runner, so a 10K in itself will be a challenge for me, let alone mix in the mud, having to climb up and on things and being cold (my least favourite thing).
Working at Home-Start South Warwickshire has given me such an insight into how incredibly tough some parents have it without support. Parenting is challenging even when you have a wonderful family and close friends like I do. All children deserve to have the same opportunities but sadly some parents are totally isolated, have no support, are suffering with their own mental health or have financial difficulties and often feel the world is against them.
I've been lucky to witness some seriously heartwarming stories about how our support has turned things around for families in need and made them feel brighter about the future. That's why I'm on a mission to raise funds for the charity I work for. There is so much more we can do and so many more people we can help across South Warwickshire.
